The Christmas and New Year holidays are just about over now and we have been making the most of a rare glimpse of the sun with a brisk walk out at Bolton Abbey along with large numbers of other folks! So busy that we had to forgo our traditional stop at the Cavendish Pavillion for a cup of tea (the queue was halfway around the room!) and come home for our cuppa.

The decorations are tidied away and now is the exciting time of planning the new year for CatkinJane.
First there will have to be a proper stock take after all the Christmas gift buying and then I will be able to get down to the fun of making new items.
I can't wait to get out and about sourcing some more wonderful fabrics to work with. 

I have plans to extend the range of handmade bags available on the website and to include a few more items that so far have only been available at the craft fairs  I attend - so watch out for some new Handmade Material Things.

There has been a new addition to the CatkinJane Friends

We now have a 'hoot' of little tweedy owls!

These arrived at the request of my younger daughter who is a big fan of owls and tweed.
Each one is handmade individually from 100% wool tweed and so no two are alike even when made from the same fabrics.

At the moment we have grey owls and brown owls made from herringbone pattern tweed, and a lovely red tweedy owl; and you can find them in the shop.
They will be a limited edition as there I only have small amounts of the fabrics available, but I'm sure there will be more versions of the tweedy owls in the future!
