2017 in review

Like everyone at the start of a new year I tend to look back at the highs and lows of the previous year - thankfully their have been very few lows for CatkinJane in 2017! I think the worst I can say is that things got a little too busy through the wedding season with many extra hours to be worked...
if you are hoping to have ties made this year don't leave it too late as I may have to be stricter with the order book this year and I'd hate to disappoint anyone

But I am pleased to say that during the year lots of grooms and groomsmen wore Liberty print ties and bow ties for the big day - it's always lovely to see the photos couples share and to see some of them featured in the wedding blogs. The latest one I just saw in December was on Whimsical Wonderland Weddings

I have also been asked this year to provide the accessories for a number of styled photo-shoots and again it has been great fun seeing the results - the Liberty print Wild Flowers was probably the most popular

Apart from many new gorgeous Liberty prints being added to the range of hand-stitched ties, bow ties and pocket squares this year has also seen the addition of some wonderful British tweeds to the range. These have been teamed with the Liberty prints to produce a small collection of tweed and Liberty print bow ties - as always with Catkinjane if you have a special request for a combination I will always try to make that for you.

I also made what is now a very rare occurance of attending an event in December joining many other local makers for a weekend at a Christmas Market in the centre of York. It was so lovely to be able to meet customers face to face again, in fact so much fun I may do it again next year!
